How to Actually See Results With Your Facials

We love a facial for the immediate post-treatment fresh skin moment, but if your goal is to actually change your skin, there’s a little more to it than booking a facial once in a while.

Whether you’re working on congestion, texture, dryness, dullness or just want your skin looking its best, here’s how to get the most out of your treatments.

1. Consistency is everything

Think of facials like going to the gym — one session can make you feel great, but the real results come from consistency.

Your skin is constantly changing, which means regular treatments give your aesthetician the opportunity to keep working toward your goals and adjust your treatment plan as your skin changes.

How often you should come in depends on your skin, your goals and the treatments you’re receiving, but for many people, every 4–6 weeks is a great place to start.

2. Start with a skin goal

You don’t need to know exactly which facial or treatment you need — that’s our job.

What is helpful is knowing what you’d like to change. Maybe your skin has been feeling extra dry, you’re dealing with congestion, you want to improve texture or you simply want your skin to look healthier overall.

From there, we can recommend treatments based on what your skin actually needs instead of choosing something just because it sounds good on the menu.

3. Your home routine matters more than you think

Your facial might be an hour, but you’re taking care of your skin the other 700+ hours of the month.

A good home routine helps support everything we’re doing in the treatment room and can make a huge difference in your results. And no, that doesn’t mean you need a 12-step skincare routine.

A few well-chosen products that work for your skin will usually do more than a bathroom cabinet full of products you use inconsistently.

4. SPF. Every. Day.

If you’re investing in your skin, SPF is non-negotiable.

Daily sunscreen helps protect your skin from UV damage that contributes to premature aging and pigmentation. It’s especially important when you’re receiving treatments designed to improve tone, texture and overall skin health.

Yes, even in Calgary. Yes, even in winter.

5. Give your skin time

We would love to tell you that every skin concern disappears after one appointment, but skin doesn’t really work that way.

Some treatments can give you an immediate boost, while concerns like pigmentation, texture, congestion or signs of aging usually take more time and multiple treatments to improve.

The goal isn’t a quick fix — it’s healthier skin over time.

6. Tell us what’s going on with your skin

Your aesthetician wants to know everything.

Started a new product? Tell us. Skin suddenly freaking out? Tell us. Going somewhere sunny next week? Definitely tell us.

Your routine, medications, recent treatments and upcoming plans can all affect which treatments are appropriate for you. The more we know, the better we can customize your appointment and your overall treatment plan.

7. Don’t be afraid to switch things up

Getting results doesn’t necessarily mean booking the exact same facial every month.

As your skin changes, your treatments might change too. Some appointments may focus on hydration and barrier support, while others might target exfoliation, congestion or texture.

That’s one of the reasons we recommend working with an aesthetician rather than trying to plan everything yourself — we can look at what your skin needs right now while keeping your bigger goals in mind.

If you want your facials to do more than give you great skin for the weekend, think long-term.

Consistent treatments + a solid home routine + daily SPF + a little patience = where the magic happens.

Not sure where to start? Book in with one of our aestheticians and let us take a look at your skin. We’ll help you figure out what treatments make sense, what products are actually worth using and create a plan that feels realistic for you.

Good skin isn’t about doing everything. It’s about doing the right things consistently.
