platelet-rich-plasma
WHAT IS PRP?
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is a procedure that uses a concentrated portion of your own blood. A small blood sample is collected and processed to separate platelet-rich plasma, which is then injected by a qualified medical professional into areas of concern.
We use PRP aesthetically as part of a treatment plan for areas such as the scalp, face, under-eye area, neck, and around the mouth. Treatment suitability varies by individual and a consultation is required to determine if this option is appropriate for you.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During a PRP procedure, a small blood sample is collected and processed to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. The treatment appointment typically takes about one hour. Some individuals may experience temporary redness, swelling, or tenderness in the treated area, which generally resolves within a few hours to a few days.
Treatment plans vary depending on individual goals and practitioner assessment. Multiple sessions may be recommended as part of an overall treatment plan. Response to treatment differs from person to person, and timing and degree of visible change can vary. A consultation with a qualified medical professional is required to determine suitability and discuss expectations.
BTW
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are available at our clinic under the assessment and authorization of our medical director. Each treatment is patient-specific and performed by our trained RNs following strict safety protocols. PRP is offered as a cosmetic and aesthetic procedure and is not marketed or approved as a drug for treating any medical condition.
