How to Actually See Results From Your Facial
(Because a facial isn’t magic, it’s a process)
You’ve booked the facial. You’ve laid on the bed. You’ve done the thing.
Now comes the part no one talks about enough: what you do after matters just as much as what happens in the treatment room.
At Frida, we see facials as part of a bigger picture, not a one-off event. If you want real, noticeable results (not just “my skin feels nice today”), here’s how to get the most out of your facial.
1. Know What a Facial Can (and Can’t) Do
Let’s set expectations first.
A facial can:
Improve texture, clarity, and hydration
Support acne management and barrier repair
Help your skin respond better to active products
Give your skin a serious reset
A facial can’t permanently change your skin in one appointment.
Think of a facial like a workout for your skin — you don’t go to the gym once and expect lifelong results. Consistency is where the magic actually happens.
2. Your At-Home Routine Is the Make-or-Break
This is the big one.
Your facial preps your skin to absorb products better, but if your home routine isn’t aligned, results stall quickly. That’s why we’re picky (in a loving way) about what you’re using at home.
A few non-negotiables:
A cleanser that supports your skin barrier
Daily SPF (yes, even in winter, yes, even if it’s cloudy)
Actives that match your skin, not TikTok’s
A moisturizer that actually seals everything in
Your aesthetician isn’t just recommending products for fun — they’re filling in the gaps so your skin can keep improving between appointments.
3. Follow Post-Facial Instructions (They’re Not Optional)
We know it’s tempting to “just do your usual,” but post-facial care exists for a reason.
Depending on your treatment, this may include:
Pausing active ingredients for a few days
Avoiding heat, workouts, or saunas temporarily
Keeping makeup minimal (or skipping it altogether)
Being extra diligent with SPF
This is when your skin is most responsive, respecting the healing window helps lock in results instead of undoing them.
4. Consistency > Intensity
One aggressive facial won’t outperform a series of well-planned treatments.
Regular facials:
Support long-term skin health
Help prevent issues instead of chasing them
Allow your aesthetician to adjust treatments as your skin changes
For most people, every 4–6 weeks is the sweet spot, but your provider will guide you based on your skin goals.
5. Be Honest About Lifestyle (We Promise We’re Not Judging)
Sleep, stress, hormones, diet, travel, workouts, they all show up on your face.
The more honest you are, the better your treatment plan will be. Skin doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and good results come from understanding the full picture, not just what’s happening on the surface.
6. Results Are Built, Not Rushed
Some changes are immediate, hydration, softness, brightness.
Others take time, acne control, pigmentation, texture, fine lines.
That doesn’t mean it’s not working. It means your skin is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do.
The Frida Approach
We believe in facials that make sense, routines that are realistic, and recommendations that actually fit your life. No pressure, no gimmicks, just thoughtful skin care that works over time.
If you’re ever unsure whether your routine is supporting your treatments, ask. That’s what we’re here for.
Your skin isn’t high-maintenance, it’s just honest.
