how to get your skin wedding ready

There are enough things to stress about leading up to the day you walk down the aisle - don’t let your skin be one of them.

6 months out (at least)

Book a consult and get on a solid skincare routine at home, as well as a schedule for facial treatments. A variety of skincare procedures will all be beneficial in getting your bridal glow, and what you do and how often will be determined during your consultation. It’s important you follow a skincare professional’s guidance since it will be tailored specifically for you and your unique skin goals. Remember, it takes roughly 3-4 months to see results from an updated routine, so start early and stick with it!

As a general rule of thumb here’s an idea of when to schedule treatments, but remember, a customized plan is always best to determine frequency for optimal results:

  • Clear + Brilliant laser: first treatment 4 months out

  • Chemical Peel: first treatment 3 months out

  • Aquagold: 2 months out

  • Microderm Infusion: 2 months out

  • Classic Facial: 1 month to 1 week out *add on dermaplaning for that extra smooth canvas

Consider the next 3 months to be more maintenance mode - schedule a professional facial every 3 to 4 weeks for the remaining 3 months.

Now is not the time to start experimenting with new products or services. If your skin has a reaction to a new product, it can take days or weeks to calm it back down, so stick to the products you know and trust.

Sleep is not only important when it comes to keeping dark circles and a puffy complexion at bay, but it is also the time when your body switches to recovery mode and our cells regenerate up to 3 times faster than they do in the day. Sleep also reduces stress, which is the number one aggravator of acne so get in that zen mode, girl!

1 week to 3 days before

You’re in the home stretch now! Get your final facial: this will be focused on smoothing and hydrating the skin and extractions should be kept to a minimum to avoid any unnecessary redness. Keep in mind that alcohol can make you puffy so do your best to skip it and reach for a hydrating at-home mask to help you relax instead.
